Biography
Hi, I'm Kyle, a Ph.D. student from Batesville, Arkansas! I'm primarily interested in what we can learn about the lives of people in the ancient Mediterranean from the literature they left behind, particularly the Greek and Roman novels and New Comedy. I'm also interested in the stagecraft and performance of ancient drama, Classical reception in games, and digital humanities. After graduating with a degree in Classics from Hendrix College in Conway, AR in 2022, I pursued an M.A. in Classical Studies Studies at the University of Oregon, in Eugene. I graduated from the U of O in 2024, and have been at the University of Illinois ever since! At the University of Oregon, I helped host the Classical Association of the Pacific Northwest 2024 conference in Eugene. At Hendrix, I served as translation director (and played Lucrio) in a production of Plautus' Miles Gloriosus.
