Prof. Craig Williams was recently honored with a Short-Term Whitney J. Oates Fellowship in the Humanities Council and Department of Classics at Princeton University. While visiting Princeton, he gave a workshop for graduate students and delivered a public lecture on April 20, entitled "'Our Muses Are Our Ancestors': Contemporary Indigenous Writers of North America and Greco-Roman Antiquity," co-sponsored by the Native American and Indigenous Studies Initiative at Princeton.

Prof. Williams' pathbreaking research brings together a wide range of Indigenous writers from across North America, from the seventeenth century to today, who have engaged with ancient Greece and Rome in a Native voice, cumulatively contributing to Indigenous survivance on this continent.
